ArticlesChanging Your Life through HealingA woman arrives in my healing practice, unable to conceive after several months of trying. She and her husband want to have a baby and she’s afraid that it’s just not going to happen. After I tune into her and ask all the pertinent questions, I sense in her a fear that is more than just the fear of the inability to conceive. The best way I can describe her feeling is that it resembles a fear/guilt conglomerate. I ask her to tell me about what I am sensing. She says that years earlier, before she was ready to have a child, she had an abortion. She is feeling regretful and guilty about this earlier child. As she lies on the table, I work on her energy field by putting my hands directly on her body. I always start at the feet and work my way up by placing my hands on the joints, until I reach the chakras. Energy starts to flow abundantly when my hands are directly on the chakras. The energy field that surrounds the body is filled with blocks that are created by a person’s negative thoughts and emotions about themselves and/or their environment. The energy that comes through me first reveals these thought forms and second helps to clear them away by making them conscious. As the clogs in the system are removed, energy that is vital to our bodies starts to flow again and health is restored. In this case, I received a call three weeks later from this woman, informing me that she was pregnant. Her daughter is nearly three years old now. A man who suffered from depression booked an appointment to see me. He could not understand what was keeping him from living his life. He was young, handsome and well educated, holding two PhDs in the fields of law and engineering and had his whole life ahead of him. The only time he felt normal was when he was on Prozac. He was tired of living on pills and wanted to know what kept him from living a normal life. In our sessions together, I kept sensing an imbalance in this man’s system that stemmed from not using his emotions. Many men in our culture over-use their rational mind. They pride themselves on being calm and reasonable men. Logic is their main tool of defense. The lower halves of their bodies are often undercharged with a large belly covering their emotional body which is located in the abdominal region. In these men, the upper half of the body particularly the head, holds more of a charge and the imbalance can physically be seen in the body. Dr. Alexander Lowen, a well known psychoanalyst, described depression as “the Collapse of Illusion”. In this client’s case, his illusion was that if he just developed his mind and acquired his degrees that he would lead a rich and successful life. The illusion he had created for himself was now being revealed. This man had a long and difficult journey ahead of him because even though the healings would clear and balance his energy field, in the long-term he had to learn how to do that for himself in order for his field to remain clear. He learned to listen to his heart and give himself permission to do the things that he genuinely wanted to do. What he really wanted was to learn more about human emotions. The healings also helped him remember when exactly in his childhood he had learned to shut them down. During a healing, people often spontaneously remember the first incident that contributed to the formation of their negative belief systems. Usually, it’s not just one incident but a whole conglomerate of events that formulate a person’s belief structure. This man is now a therapist and works in the prison system to help incarcerated men release their rage in a positive and harmless way. He is no longer on medication. Healing is nothing more than the energetic balancing of the body. Often the imbalances start to show in the physical body, so a healer doesn’t necessarily need extra-sensory perception to see what is going on in the body, although many healers have a very well developed intuition. A Brennan Healing Science Practitioner is trained to see with the naked eye the imbalances that start to form in the physical body. We are taught what areas of the body hold the negative messages from the psyche and work directly with the person to help them clear the messages. If the imbalances persist for a long time, they turn into illness. But once a person is ill, it doesn’t mean that the thought forms/feelings can’t be reversed or modified. Spontaneous recovery is often due to a person knowingly changing their belief system and living life in a more balanced way. A good healer helps the client clear out the contributing factors that cause the imbalances. Some examples of negative belief systems are “I am not good enough”, “There is not enough”, “I must give and give and never take anything for myself”. There are so many different belief systems that are not only custom made for the individual, but also exist collectively in humanity, due to the way we have been raised as children. One of our main collective beliefs is that the world is not a benign place that provides us with whatever we need to exist. We compete with one another and overwork ourselves in order to accumulate for the future. We harbor a spirit of competition rather than cooperation and the only times we really come together are in times of crisis. When I work on a client, the mind, body, emotions and spirituality all come together in one harmonious unit. The person feels full and whole and from this place can see what the issues are that hold him/her back in life. The true work then begins on this level. The client has to want to change and is an active participant in the process of transformation. Unrealistic expectations that a healer will wave a magic wand and problems disappear only leads to more disillusionment. A good healer is a facilitator and guide, never trying to control or direct the healing, but acting as a detective who will help the client find the problem and shine the light of consciousness in the dark, stagnant places so that healing can take place on a deep level. Natalie Rastegar, a Brennan Healing Science Practitioner, has completed a four year program with the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. Dr. Brennan, the founder of the school, has written “Hands of Light” and “Light Emerging” and is one of the world’s leading authorities on Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
Four Pathways to Your True Self1). True Understanding of Cause and Effect in Your Life
This brings me to the second key: 2) Learning the ability to feel all your feelings and to handle the feeling experience.
3) Developing Positive Intentionality
4) Connecting with your True Self (Divine Self)
